Just returned from H.Dino, (ex Vivo). Bought Danone yogurts,, pack of 4, with one labeled Gratis. OAt checkout was charged the normal price of €2.19. Enquired with Customer Services - told that the discount was included in the €2.19 price!
This means that 4 yogurts have jumped from €2.19 to €2.92 since last Saturday (33% Increase)
Will be shopping with EUROSPAR again! I resent being robbed!

Its a marketing con! Bit like when they mark up booze and then discount it back to the original price and claim you are getting it cheap!

We will be winning next month when everyone votes with their feet and heads to Lidl. Eurospar in Costa Teguise are selling some kind of washing powder for €3 already. Whether it cleans anything or not I don't know. Obviously getting ready for the oncoming competition having tied them up in courts for years while they robbed us blind.
The competition will be fierce and we will be the winners bring on more players I say.

mmmm hope you are not all going to be desperately disappointed when lidl turns up. I agree will be good savings on household stuff but have you ever tried going with a shopping list for specific meals and getting all the fresh stuff you need........and with only one store going to be interesting how they keep it fully stocked all the time.

I Agree there slightly, at first there will be a mad rush to buy it all and they WILL sell out of some lines (this also happened at Gangas when they first opened) but once everyone has had there mad "fix" of panic buying the shelfs should stay a constant half full situation. I just hope they are good prices like in the uk. It is so sad we have to get excited about a supermarket opeing but we are !! lol :

Same old, same old etc!!! No difference from UK - the number of times in Tesco the 'special offers' are actually dearer than the cheaper deals - eg - bought some bog roll tonight - 'special offer' on the 8 pack - but was cheaper buying 2 4 packs - they see us coming!!!!
Yes - and maybe sad that I look out for it - but I do have a husband that will buy very little without consulting Which?, but that's a whole different story lol!

Not sad at all Celty - anyone with half a brain cell should be able to remember what the price of certain things was.
I bought a pineapple at sainsbury last week. 85p which I thought was a bargain - and since then haven't seen them under £2! Now that is proper sad!!!
Re. having seen the Lidl website I think many will be disappointed!!! Unless you feed the kids out of tins you can't plan a weeks worth of meals.

Hi all. In my opinion - Lidl is worth going to if one wishes to stock on on cleaning items, if you see anything else to buy it's a bonus. When it comes to food choose a place like Roppers (go for quality). I must admit that Lidl in the UK has got better, I have even bought fruit and veg but it is just luck that I shopped there the day that these items were being put on display.

I´ve only ever been to one Lidl and that was in Almeria last year and it was dire. So I cannot see what all the fuss is about. Im just hoping that the Lanzarote one will be better but somehow doubt it.

BTW - Lidls own brand dishwasher tabs are a Which? best buy, and certainly in the UK, they're half the price of anything else!

I agree debs..the expectations seems to be rather unrealistic.....but I guess if you have the time to shop at all the different places to get the mest deals then fair enough.
CG - will try them - I got tesco basics dishwasher tablets month or two ago in an attempt at cost saving but they were rubbish!

La, yes, we go shopping for specific items, to prepare a meal, and seldom find them here! Excuse our excitement over the new supermarket - we are desperate!
