Hope you do it GG as that will raise more money for Sara.

BTW ...... there isn't anyone higher than you, just equal, so go for 17 and you'll be fine.

Doesn't necessary mean that you will come out the overall winner though as Mitch is going to choose the person who has made the most progress/ changed shape/toned up etc. There will be a prize for highest loss (including Bob's sponsorship) so you probably will win that if you reach your target.

Go for it girl!!!!!!

I've unloaded and re loaded a transit size van today with No.2 (another participant but we are using to protect identities LOL). Fruit salad for lunch and salad for dinner. Struggling with drinking water though. I just don't drink a lot and I am only managing to drink 2 bottles even though Mitch said I had to drink 4.   :(

Did some exercises again this afternoon so I am feeling a bit achy at the moment

There are another 4 people signed up today and another 2 more that couldn't make it on Sunday. So that makes a total of 20 people taking part  ;D

I might do a comparison chart when we have our four week weigh in. There are five of us going to Mitch's gym for a keep fit class once a week so we swap stories etc but Mitch prefers not to weigh us yet
I (and I'm sure so are the others) am keep an eye on my weight every three days or so. I know you are not supposed to do this but I can't resist. Suffice to say it is going in the right direction.  ;D

I am finding some dormant muscles I used to use when I was younger but my fitness level is at an all time low. BP is high ... heart rate jumps up too quick when exercising ... and basically I get kn@ckered within seconds. I always thought I was pretty fit for my age but obviously not.  :(

I've halved my daily amount of cigarettes, I'm losing weight, I do exercises every day so hopefully I will see an improvement soon. Once the weight is off I'll try and cut the fags completely. I don't think I could diet and go cold turkey on the ciggies at the same time. I'm down from 30/35 to about 15 a day now so that's got to be better for me.

Mitch has been a star in all this ..... he is giving his time for the weigh ins and has even said he will donate 10% of whatever he makes from the fitness classes.

All we need now is more sponsors for the slimmers. I've only got three people as most of my friends that I would ask to sponsor me are taking part themselves. I hope the others are doing better than I am.

Anyone want to throw in a few bob to sponsor me??  Pleeeeease.

Well , we've had our first weigh in and everyone has lost weight. There were a couple of late starters that haven't lost as much as others but I am sure they will soon catch up.
Out of an original 18 that signed up, there were 4 people that didn't turn up for the weigh for one reason or another.
These are the weight losses and, more importantly, percentage of body weight loss recorded yesterday.

1: 3 kilos          4.25%
2: 3.5 kilos       3.69%
3: 4.5 kilos       5.24%
4: 2 kilos          3.14%
5: 4 kilos          4.26%
6: -----
7: -----
8: 5 kilos          7.15%
9: -------
10: 5 kilos        5.21%
11: 5 kilos        5.00%
12: 3 kilos        4.06%
13: 2 kilos        3.14%
14: 6 kilos        8.58%
15: .5 kilo        0.59%
16: 1.7 kilos     2.52%
17: 4.4 kilos     4.72%
18: ---------

A couple of really good percentages there so looking good.

Just need some more sponsors now.  ;)

Just found this..............    I wonder is this how Mitch is treating you all LOL   ;)

A WOMAN'S WEEK AT THE GYM

This is dedicated to everyone who ever attempted to get into a regular workout routine

Dear Diary,
For my birthday this year, I  purchased a week of personal training at the local health club.  Although I am still in great shape since being a high school football cheerleader 43 years ago, I decided it would be a good idea to go ahead and give it a try.

I called the club and made my reservations with a personal trainer named Christo, who identified himself as a 26-year-old aerobics instructor and model for athletic clothing and swim wear

Friends seemed pleased with my enthusiasm to get started! The club encouraged me to keep a diary to chart my progress.
________________________________
MONDAY:
Started my day at 6:00 am. Tough to get out of bed, but found it was well worth it when I arrived at the health club to find Christo waiting for me. He is something of a Greek god-- with blond hair, dancing eyes, and a dazzling white smile.  Woo Hoo!

Christo gave me a tour and showed me the machines.. I enjoyed watching the skillful way in which he conducted his aerobics class after my workout today. Very inspiring!

Christo was encouraging as I did my sit-ups, although my gut was already aching from holding it in the whole time he was around.

This is going to be a FANTASTIC week!

TUESDAY:
I drank a whole pot of coffee, but I finally made it out the door. Christo made me lie on my back and push a heavy iron bar into the air then he put weights on it!  My legs were a little wobbly on the treadmill, but I made the full mile.  His rewarding smile made it all worthwhile. I feel GREAT!  It's a whole new life for me.
_______________________________
WEDNESDAY:
The only way I can brush my teeth is by laying the toothbrush on the counter and moving my mouth back and forth over it.  I believe I have a hernia in both pectorals.  Driving was OK as long as I didn't try to steer or stop.
Christo was impatient with me, insisting that my screams bothered other club members. His voice is a little too perky for that early in the morning and when he scolds, he gets this nasally whine that is VERY annoying.
My chest hurt when I got on the treadmill, so Christo put me on the stair monster.  Why the hell would anyone invent a machine to simulate an activity rendered obsolete by elevators?  Christo told me it would help me get in shape and enjoy life.  He said some other sh*t too.
_______________________________
THURSDAY:
Assh*le was waiting for me with his vampire-like teeth exposed as his thin, cruel lips were pulled back in a full snarl.  I couldn't help being a half an hour late - it took me that long to tie my shoes.
He took me to work out with dumbbells. When he was not looking, I ran and hid in the restroom.  He sent some skinny b*tch to find me.
Then, as punishment, he put me on the rowing machine - which I sank.
_________________________________
FRIDAY:
I hate that b*stard Christo more than any human being has ever hated any other human being in the history of the world.. Stupid, skinny, anemic, anorexic, little aerobic instructor.  If there was a part of my body I could move without unbearable pain, I would beat him with it.
Christo wanted me to work on my triceps.  I don't have any triceps! And if you don't want dents in the floor, don't hand me the damn barbells or anything that weighs more than a sandwich.
The treadmill flung me off and I landed on a health and nutrition teacher.  Why couldn't it have been someone softer, like the drama coach or the choir director?
________________________________
SATURDAY:
Satan left a message on my answering machine in his grating, shrilly voice wondering why I did not show up today.  Just hearing his voice made me want to smash the machine with my planner; however, I lacked the strength to even use the TV remote and ended up catching eleven straight hours of the Weather Channel.
________________________________
SUNDAY:
I'm having the Church van pick me up for services today so I can go and thank GOD that this week is over.  I will also pray that next year my husband will choose a gift for me that is fun - like a root canal or a hysterectomy.  I still say if God had wanted me to bend over, he would have sprinkled the floor with diamonds.

Second weigh-in is done so we are half way through the Slimathon.

There are some really good figures (excuse the pun) showing on the weight loss chart with three people losing 8 kilos each over the two months. For those of you that like to use "old money" that is 17.64lbs ....... or just over 1 stone - 3½ lbs

Weight loss to date followed by percentage of initial body weight lost:

1.   3.5 kg   =   4.92 %
2.   5.0 kg   =   5.26 %
3.   8.0 kg   =   9.30 %
4.   4.0 kg   =   6.25 %
5.   4.0 kg   =   4.25 %
6.      -                -
7.      -                -
8.   5.0 kg   =   7.14 %
9.   3.0 kg   =   3.57 %
10. 7.0 kg   =   7.29 %
11. 8.0 kg   =   8.00 %
12. 4.0 kg   =   5.40 %
13. 3.0 kg   =   4.68 %
14. 8.0 kg   = 11.42 %
15. 0.5 kg   =   0.58 %
16. 2.0 kg   =   2.98 %
17. 5.0 kg   =   5.37 %
18.    -               -

Measurements were also taken at each weigh in with some unbelievable results (some people losing 8 or 9 inches off their hips or waist). These figures will be published with the weight losses at the end of the four month Slimathon.

Participants should be able to work out which number they are but, if in doubt, drop me an Email and I will give you your number.

Keep up the good work everyone and a special thank you to Mitch (personal trainer) from Tiagua who is keeping everyone on track with exercise and nutritional advice.
